Media Advisory: Ministers of Revenue announce tax changes that will save Ontario businesses up to $190 million a year

MINISTERS OF REVENUE ANNOUNCE TAX CHANGES THAT WILL SAVE ONTARIO BUSINESSES UP TO $190 MILLION A YEAR
On May 2, 2008, the Hon. Gordon O'Connor, Minister of National Revenue and the Hon. Monique Smith, Minister of Revenue for Ontario will address the Ontario Chamber of Commerce Annual General Meeting on the recent changes in Ontario's corporate tax system.
The Ministers will highlight to the delegates the progress made in moving to a harmonized corporate tax system for Ontario businesses. Specifically, the Ministers will underscore the benefits to the Ontario business community of the integrated federal and provincial audits, rulings, objections and appeals that began on April 3, 2008.
A brief question and answer period for Ontario Chamber of Commerce members will follow the Ministers' remarks. Media representatives are invited to attend.
