Tax Advisory Services Branch
The Tax Advisory Services Branch was established in December of 2005. The branch's mandate is to ensure the fair, consistent and effective delivery of tax advisory services for the tax statutes, tax credits and benefit programs administered by the Tax Revenue Division.
The branch is committed to helping taxpayers and businesses better understand their financial and reporting obligations by providing clear, complete, accurate and timely information. This includes providing written and verbal legislative interpretation and advance ruling services, providing information relating to the tax credits and benefit programs, as well as conducting educational seminars and tax information forums across the province. The branch also produces a number of publications such as tax guides, information bulletins, information notices, interpretation bulletins, and offers online access to selected legislative rulings.
The branch is also responsible for the provision of generic and certain technical training for divisional staff.
By promoting multi-channel access to information, the branch allows easy access to publications and forms through the ministry website at ontario.ca/revenue.
