On July 1, 2010, Ontario is introducing a federally administered Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) that will apply to most purchases and transactions.
Books, children's clothing and footwear, car seats and car booster seats, feminine hygiene products, qualifying prepared food and beverages sold for $4.00 or less and print newspapers will be exempt from the provincial portion of the HST.
