It's Time To File Your Taxes

When you file your taxes, you could get money back by claiming a number of tax credits and benefits in Ontario. Visit ontario.ca/taxcredits to learn more.

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) administers personal income tax on behalf of Ontario and can answer your questions by telephone.

You can also download the 2010 Tax Package from the CRA website.

The HST is now in effect in Ontario. The 13% HST combines the 5% GST and the 8% PST into one tax and is collected by the federal government.

Tutoring and tuition fees, residential rents, basic groceries, municipal public transit, child care, music lessons and prescription drugs are exempt from the HST.

All About Canada's Tax System

In partnership with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), the Ontario Ministry of Finance has developed the Responsible Citizenship and Canada's Tax System program.
